Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted from flowers that I have grown and pressed here at Buttermilk Lane.
My gardens are awash with the blues of Forget-Me-Nots in the spring and I search amongst them to find the most perfect specimens for my earrings, pendants, and for my special lines, such as the new items I am offering that were inspired by the LDS Forget-Me-Not speech. I pick these delicate Forget-Me-Nots one blossom at a time and meticulously press them in a manner to achieve the best color retention. I also grow many colors of Sweet Alyssum in my greenhouse and plant them where the blue Forget-me-Nots have past their season. I have experimented with many flowers for my jewelry, but keep coming back to the sentimental Forgets and Sweet Alyssum as my favorites.
I also use many of the unendangered wildflowers I find along the roadsides, fields, and woods around my home in the foothills of western Maine. Queen Anne's Lace is my favorite wildflower to use in my jewelry.
I am a one woman cottage industry. I pride myself on my workmanship and guarantee my unique jewelry will make you smile with pleasure.
